Summer Wedding Trends

The latest wedding trends are saying bye-bye to that rustic, vintage themed wedding, and welcoming back a traditional, elegant style.  Think beautiful garden, romantic elegance, or just a simply stunning white wedding. Here is a breakdown of the upcoming trends:

{1} Think Pink: Soft pinks such as nudes, blushes, and peaches are a hit this summer.  Using florals to incorporate these soft pinks is a perfect way to stay on trend.

Hottest Spring Prom Trends

Check out the original Her Rochester blog here.

Prom Season is upon us again, and for many it has already been months in the planning! Inspired by runway fashion, here are this season’s hottest trends for Prom.

From the red carpet to your local prom, red is the trending color this spring! Making a bold statement, red will emerge as a standout color in both classic and modern designs.

Together again are black and white!  The classic black or white dress could be eclipsed by this smart combination.

Color blocking is making the jump from casual to formal wear! From brights to pastels, beautiful combinations of color block designs are heading our way this spring.

Lacey Prom looks, also inspired by red carpet designs, are trending in Prom designs this spring.  Look for black lace overlay gowns to be the most popular, offering revealing designs with peekaboo cut outs or a quieter vintage vibe. Alternative colors in lace designs are also available in red, fuchsia and other bright color combinations.

Trending in a big way this spring are embellished gowns and dresses. Crystals, rhinestones, or appliques can be seen as trims, a complete a full bodice, or more. It’s all about the bling and in some cases more is better.

Fall Wedding Trends

Fall weddings are growing in popularity, with September and October dates often out numbering those in June and July!  But for those a bit skeptical about marking their date in fall, we’re happy to announce that Halloween hues are not a requirement of weddings in this season.  If you’re planning a Fall Wedding, look to these colors and trends for your celebration:
{1} Jewel Tones: Burgundy, deep purples, emerald greens, and sapphire blue.  This color combination looks beautiful with dresses of any deep fall tone, but also pairs well with natural colors.

{2} Muted Tones: Blush, ivory, and peach are emerging colors for fall.  They also compliment deeper colors like burgundy, forest green, and rust.

{3} Fall Accents: Skip the orange pumpkins and gourds and go for white and green.  White pumpkins and gourds are all the rage this season.  They look beautiful filled with flowers or displayed with candles and other accent items.  It’s a perfect way to subtly incorporate the beauty of fall on your special day.

Summer Wedding Trends

Over the past few years we have been sending brides and bridesmaids down the aisle with bright colorful summer bouquets.  But the summer wedding trends are starting to shift.  We now are seeing more muted colors and brides skipping out on the traditional wedding looks for a more customized style.

{1} Colored Bride’s Bouquets: Brides are tossing the traditional all white bouquet, for something more colorful.  We love this trend, as it makes for a stand out look in photo opts.  The bouquet doesn’t blend in with the dress, but rather stands out as a beautiful bridal accessory.

{2} White Bridesmaid Bouquets: Just like brides are opting for more color, bridesmaids are opting for a muted look.  Again this is a great way to stand out against a bold bridesmaid dress, and better yet, to showcase the brides bouquet.

75f12a5a3b28f4bc06e0780899d9afba{3} Popular Colors: Move over bright colors, blush and grey are all the rage.  The light pink blush tone is the ultimate wedding color with soft features and a romantic feel.  While the grey tone is perfect neutral pallet color for a bold graphic wedding.

{4} Monochromatic: A more modern twist we are seeing is monochromatic tones.  Whether it’s in centerpieces, bouquets, or ceremony decor, weddings are going with one color.

{5} Succulents: Going with a natural vibe, succulents are popping up everywhere.  Whether its one tucked into a lovely bouquet or a centerpiece full of them, they are a perfect addition to those looking to add in a natural relaxed touch to their wedding florals.

{6} Vintage / Rustic Style: In an effort to save money and still have a wow factor wedding look, brides are turing to a more vintage or rustic style wedding.  With DIY moments, alternative venues, and tons of Pinterest inspiration, couples are opting for these unique looks to create a customized wedding.

2013 Prom Trends

{1} Necklines: For an unexpected touch, unique necklines are turning heads on prom dresses this year.  Whether it’s an asymmetrical strap or a high neckline with glamorous embellishments, you can still have the classic prom glitz and glamor with an updated twist.

{2} Peplum: In the fashion world peplum is everywhere!  So of course it would be hitting the prom dress trends this year.  Add it to a short or long dress to accentuate the waistline.

{3} Gold: In glitter or metallic, gold is definitely a show stopper this year.  For an unexpected twist, pair with silver and rhinestone accessories for a full metallic look.

{4} Vintage: Our favorite vintage looks this year are old hollywood glamour and 1920s flapper.  Go for an actual vintage dress or try a more modern vintage inspired look.

{5} Illusion: Cut out dresses have been so popular in the prom world, but now illusion dresses are taking over.  With skin tone mesh mixed with lace or sequins, this is the perfect on trend look for prom.
